How to Transport Your Frozen Embryos or Gametes Between IVF Clinics
Moving your frozen embryos, sperm or oocytes from one IVF clinic to another may seem complicated, but Embryoport will help coordinate the process with both clinics.
1. Contact your current IVF clinic
Ask your current (exporting) clinic to provide and arrange the necessary consent to export your frozen embryos or gametes.
2. Contact your new IVF clinic
Your receiving (importing) clinic will need to confirm that they are able to accept your frozen embryos or gametes and arrange the required consent to import.
3. Complete Embryoport's transport consent
You will need to complete Embryoport consent to transport, authorising us to coordinate and carry out the transport between the two clinics.
4. Your clinics exchange the necessary information
The exporting clinic will provide the relevant documentation and information to the receiving clinic. The receiving clinic will review the documentation before confirming that they are able to accept your embryos or gametes.
5. Embryoport coordinates the transport
Once both clinics have completed their requirements, Embryoport will communicate directly with both clinics and arrange the transport at a mutually agreed date and time.
You don't need to coordinate the transport yourself — we work with both clinics to make the process as simple and straightforward as possible.

Round transport allows you to transport all of your frozen embryos and/or gametes from the storing centre to the treatment centre then returning them back to the storing centre on the same day or the following day of your treatment.
Advantages of the round transport:
• Saving money by not losing the storage period fees you already paid for at the storing centre
• Using your potentially infected embryos and/or gametes if the treatment centre can not store them for you.
• Avoiding paying extra fees for storing your gametes and/or embryos at the treatment centre.
• Storing your gametes and/or embryos awaiting virology screening results clearance.
-
BIOHAZARDOUS TRANSPORT: Fees from £500List Item 4
We provide complete dedicated shippers for potentially infected embryos/gametes. It is a regulatory requirement not to store or transport potentially infected embryos with HIV, Hepatitis B or C viruses with negatively screened samples.
Most of the IVF clinics will not have storage facilities for potentially infected embryos/gametes. We can help by storing them temporary in our transport shipper until your treatment day. Contact us to discuss the best option and the cost involved.
